hello!
major flowers in the cacti garden ~ love this time of year! they are amazing. :)
we are working on little touch-ups for the main site, little things here and there. just found out the contact page isn't working properly, whoops!, not sure how long that's been acting up... but it should be fixed soon. and we are adding the new Anamnesis videos to the video section too.
the Wandering Planets Tour is tootling along, it's been great. this tour feels even more relaxed than last year. if that is even possible. it's nice. probably because i'm spending a lot more time by myself on stage. it gets lonely sometimes but i'm enjoying it too. looking forward to the band shows in Show Low, AZ in july. it should be rockin! contemplating getting a new dress for these shows... i love my black and olive dress but it might be nice to switch it up. hmmm... we'll see.
i can't wait until Imogen Heap comes out with her new album, been following her on Twitter. i love her. i also have been loving all the new albums that have come out this year: DM, Tori, Color Theory's EP, which funny enough came out the same day as Anamnesis! how cool is that?! i've also been loving my old favorite Agnes Milewski. she is so awesome, i would love to see her in concert (have to get back to Austria asap!) oh, and we saw Flight of the Conchords in concert: completely hysterical! it was so funny and musically rockin.
anyhoo, we are looking into a few more dates to add to the tour which hopefully i can post soon. it will probably be in the mid-west (north-ish).
the stew is staring to bubble... already... lot's of tasty things are starting to come together, as they always do. ;)

ahahahahahaha.... it's here! Anamnesis is flying out to the world. I've been insane busy getting every little thing in order and now it's here! yesterday was nuts! but it's always fun, i like a little nuttiness. ha! but i hope everyone enjoys the tunes. the reviews are starting to come in and i'm completely floored. it's so humbling when you hear someone else's thoughts about the music ~ it's so overwhelming. i try very hard to translate the songs the way they want to be heard and it's nice when others embrace them as well. i feel i can't say thank you enough, really.
there have been so many updates on the main site (http://www.shaunaburns.com), new entry super-cool page, new photos up, new bio updates, new tour news, new, new, new updates. and a thistle glen!
but i wanted to put some thank you's here that i put in the newsletter and myspace blog ~ these guys are very special to me ~
I wanted to give a few very special thank you’s to some people that help play a large role getting the music out there and help me out sooo much ~ James, Steve, Spiral peeps, Ryan, Kiley & Marc, Chip, Bryce, Michelle, Miles High peeps, Benno, Nick, Mom & Dad and all our families and friends... and of course you guys too! Thank you so much for all the support and love, I truly do appreciate all the thoughts, messages and kindness! :)
Welcome to Thistle Glen episode #27 - Anamnesis - Anamnesis is out now! Let's chat about it! Grab the new EP on Shauna Burns.com, listening party going on right now, new photos, site updates and a very special download treat. New press and The Wandering Planets Tour is starting soon. Hi!
While recording Anamnesis my friend and awesome-all-around-gal Kiley Astle played violin on the track "So Tell Me..." and absolutely blew us away. Kiley's violin took this song to another level and I'm so honored to have her magic contribute to this song. You can listen to it on her MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/kbaviolin) before I put the song up in all the usual places. I can't thank Kiley enough for her friendship and support ~ You rock my world! :)
I'm working on my gigantic to-do list... it's fun but making my brain hurt. Oh, it's all good. It's exciting to finally get all the treats out. I wanted to record a new Thistle Glen last week but I just crashed. Hopefully going to get it done today or tomorrow. Feels like it's been forever!
I'm still completely overwhelmed by the love coming in from the music, photos, album cover reveal and the Anamnesis collage video ~ the support is very much appreciated. :)
Okay, Tour News: We are still getting information about exact times for some of the shows, it's a little weird with festivals sometimes and we're trying to nail details down. But if you have any questions please email me: shauna at shaunaburns dot com
It's looking like I'll be doing some tasty solo shows this summer but all those shows will have James on some percussion (so I'm not all by myself! ha!) and in Maryland I'm so excited that Caroline Kemper, Ms. Harpist-Extraordinaire, is going to be joining me! Now this is going to be awesome. But don't worry, we have the band for some shows too (like the Utah Ren Fest, Show Low, AZ and a festival in Phoenix later this year). It will be a good mix, and I'm sure some other dates will pop up, they always do. :)
Oh, and we've fixed the Star Chart Radio on the site ~ it's brand new and much easier to navigate. A big thank you to Benno for that help. We're also fixing up a few other things which will be revealed soon.
Talk to you soon!

hello!
i just got this and thought to share... :)
The kind Jud Conway at KindWeb (http://www.kindweb.com/index.asp) has posted his review of the Moon and the Fire circle and it's featured on their front page! Thank you so much for this wonderful review! Click here to read it in full: http://www.kindweb.com/reviews/review.a sp?ID=24438
'The musical universe of Shauna Burns is dominated by stream-of-consciousness lyrics that float effortlessly over piano-driven melodies complemented by a delicate mix of guitars, harps, and cellos and accentuated by warm bass tones and strong percussion. [And] features some of her most inspired songwriting to date... If this enchanting album turns out to be anything less than the musical personification of Shauna Burns' search for footing within the universe, it is still a moving and intense journey 'from [the] light to the dark and back' that many listeners will, no doubt, want to take again… and again.' - Jud Conway, KindWeb (http://www.kindweb.com/reviews/review.a sp?ID=24438)
And speaking of heart-warming reviews... Our dear friends at Collected Sounds:
'[T]he opening track, Bloom, is a stand out. It's orchestral, ambient, ethereal and a great composition. Shauna's music is sort of transcendent. It is really great to listen to when you want to 'get away' but can't. I find it helpful on those stressful days. It has a wonderful calming effect.' - Amy Lotsberg, Collected Sounds (http://www.blog.collectedsounds.com/ ?p=1046)
'The singer and pianist [has] written some stunning songs and her delivery is sharp. Desert Sun is a subtly orchestrated song with a lovely melody. Chamber is a lushly produced, beautiful number with some of Burns' best singing. Tumbleweed muses about full moons and lost love even as Burns' turns in some fine piano playing. Around You is an up tempo very radio friendly song that retains an artsy integrity. Shauna Burns continues her artistic journey and it’s one worth following.' - Anna Maria Stjärnell, Collected Sounds (http://www.blog.collectedsounds.com/ ?p=1046)
quite marvelous... wow. thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.

Once again it is Christmas Eve and I have a special treat for you this eve... I have been nurturing another little album that will be released in the new year. This work has been waiting in the wings and is almost ready. It will be a 5 song EP that is the extension of the Moon and the Fire circle. Think of it as another side to the story or it's sister planet. We have been tinkering away in the studio and the little album will shortly be mixed and mastered. I can't wait for you all to hear these new songs, they are very special to me and I'm so thrilled to bring them to you. Until then, I am happy to introduce the title of this work ~
Anamnesis
I also have for you another special goodie, the live version of "Bloom" ~ with yours truly on piano and vocals, James Clark on drums, Steve Lemmon on guitar, Ryan Tilby on guitar and Marc Kolodziej on bass. This was filmed outside of Boston, MA. I hope you enjoy!
Thank you so much for all your support and kindness. I hope you and your loved ones are safe, happy and well this holiday!

hi there ~
yes, i am cold. yes, indeed. tis a bit frosty out but it's nice to wear sweaters and coats. the music is coming along... marinating you could say. these things take time to saturate through the blood. but all will be revealed soon. if you are signed up for the newsletter this might make more sense... but basically i've been stewing in the studio again and will be releasing a new little EP in the new year. it's very connected to Moon and Fire and these little treats are going to be quite tasty i think. just some more tinkering and a good mix and master (ah, the techy stuff) and then it will be ready for you. stew, stew, stew!
okay ~ much, much, much more soon... i need to get close to a blazing fire or something. :P

the holiday shop is up! you can grab all sorts of goodies over at http://www.shaunaburns.com ~ and included with every order is a free mini flashlight, magnet, sticker pack and postcard pack. pretty nifty things, if i do say so myself. and for the first time all cd's that are sold via paypal will be autographed. these treats are usually only available at shows so it might be a cool thing... if you're into that sort of thing. ;)
one note ~ the t-shirts in the news section are the ones we have in stock. the "desert" t-shirt and the "men's piano" t-shirt will take an extra few weeks.
but all others are waiting patiently. :)
thanks for all the love and i'll talk to you soon... i think i will post that video soon... stay tuned!

hello,
it's that time, when the chill hits your face and you know you need your sweater and scarf... now. it's quite eye opening. i've been decorating the sites a bit (here and myspace) and i'm getting ready to post a special "holiday shop" with some special treats included with every order. you can look over on http://www.shaunaburns.com right now for a taste.
i've been busy over on facebook (boy that place is completely crazy to figure out) updating the pages with some new stuff too. i have to say a big thank you to bryce and chip for helping me keep up with all the sites, these guys rock my socks off.
i'm thinking about posting the live version of "bloom" for a special holiday treat. not sure if we're all "bloomed-out" but it's a fun vid... thinking...
okay, i'll be back with some more holiday cheer... as much as i can give. hee hee...
icicle snugs,

ps ~ yes, the icicles are out in force in the blog... burrr!!
